Since January 2009, atmosgrad° has been one of the first companies certified by the German Sustainable Building Council, GeSBC (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen, DGNB) as an accredited auditor. Since 2007, we’ve been part of the development of this system, and have successfully wrapped up our first audits for pre-certificates and final certificates. In addition to the system for certifying the new construction of office and administrative buildings, a variety of systems are now available that are applicable to other building typse. atmosgrad° was a key player in the development of new user profiles, such as that for hotels.

Service Package 1 - Analysis of Potential

This first phase entails an introductory workshop in which the requirement of the DGNB system are explained, as well as an evaluation of the project's characteristics and an assessment of all certification options. You will be advised on which sustainability certifications are within your reach, giving you the necessary tools to make an informed decision as to the next step.

Service Package 2 - Auditing for Pre-Certification

Pre-certification provides strong support during the construction phase, communicating and documenting a project's target values. The planning team will create the necessary documentation to submit as proof to the DGNB of the attainment of these values. This documentation will also serve as target specifications in subsequent phases of the project.

Service Package 3 - Green Building Monitoring

As development proceeds, regular documentation should be kept with an eye on the progress toward certification. In order to ensure that certification is attained, a project must be regularly monitored during construction to ensure that necessary benchmarks of the project's target values are being reached. Additional services can also be added as needed, such as inspection of the users' needs profile or workshops on specific themes.

Service Package 4 - Auditing for Certification

In this final step, the paperwork for certification is wrapped up. A complete file of documentation is compiled that demonstrates achieved sustainability targets, including all reports, calculations and evidentiary forms from the project team. An auditors assumes responsibility for looking over the documents and submits the file for the issuance of a Sustainable Building Certificate from the DGNB.
